Candlelight Open House 2021

By Ephrata Cloister Associates (other events)

2 Dates Through Nov 27, 2021

ABOUT ABOUT

This is the chance to take a leisurely stroll through history, while exploring the original buildings of Ephrata’s first settlement. Inside, craftsmen including Fraktur artist Emily Smucker-Beidler and Matt and Elaine Vardjan of Pennsylvania Folk Art Papers will be sharing their talents at keeping history alive. Spinners will be at work in the Weaver’s House, and in the Printing Office, the letterpress will be in operation. The Ephrata Cloister Chorus and harpist Joanne Swords-Wang will offer short programs throughout the evening in the original Meetinghouse, providing a preview of the holiday program happening in December.  You can even try your hand at making a small ornament while enjoying some refreshments in the Visitor Center.

In The Museum Store, you’ll find locally made treasures for someone on your gift list. The night also offers the opportunity to meet some of the people who help bring the site to life and learn about the available volunteer opportunities.
